Well, that whole “peace and love and cooperation” thing in the Senate didn’t quite last a week. The Senate has failed to vote for cloture on John Bolton’s nomination.

Your best quote thus far come courtesy MIchelle Maklin who catches Harry Reid with this:

“We’re not here to filibuster Bolton, we’re here to get information.”

Well, see, no cloture vote means a filibuster. That’s pretty much the definition of a filibuster. I also note that we did have about a week’s worth of hearings, or more, along with written questions submitted by various Senators, to find out all about John Bolton.

Apparently that’s not enough. So we’re now in a filibuste…err…”information gathering” delay.

There’s no word on whether Reid has scheduled Bolton for a proctology exam yet. One may only assume that’s what’s coming since they’ve probed him every other conceivable way.
