Lampley’s at It Again

Jim Lampley is, again, punching way the hell out of his intellectual weight class. Last week he picked a blog fight with Byron York and this week, it’s Roger L Simon.

Lampley appears to be playing the blogger role of “guy who wants to prove what a big man he is by walking into a bad and punching the biggest guy he can find right in the face only to find that his punch carried exactly the weight of a gnat on an elephant’s back and that instead of being the big man, he’s now his opponent’s personal punching bag for a while”.

Sure, it gets him a nanosecond of credibility for being brave but boatlads of credit for being incredibly stupid. The thing is, it appears that he’s going to keep coming back, he’ll find another guy, throw a punch, and end up a smear on the beer-stained bar floor. At some point I can only hope that his friends will notice when he gets that crazy look in his eyes and restrain him before he gets mauled again.

Roger hasn’t mauled him, but I suspect that it won’t be long in coming. Lampley didn’t just say he was wrong, he got more personal than he needed to get.
