Conservative Bias, but Only If You’re Forgetful

It helps sometimes if you’re on the right side of politics, to read up on the folks across the aisle. You do get some doozies sometimes.

A good example is David Sirota a big-time Democratic operative (as seen in his resume on the right of his page) and writer who has gained the attention of the MSM in fairly favorable terms.

Here’s a clip from a post he’s written about the Time Magazine cover story on Ann Coulter.

In a vacuum, you can certainly argue that its fine for a magazine to explore the ramifications of Coulter on America’s culture. But this isn’t a vacuum. When was the last time you saw someone of equal (if not more) importance on the left promoted on the cover of America’s mainstream magazines?

This, he takes as his prize piece of conservative bias in the media. He probably shouldn’t have been quite so dogmatic about that statement, though.

No doubt he’s forgotten the appearance of Michael Moore who Time magazine called “a populist agitator” (as opposed to their description of Coulter as a “conservative flamethrower”). How about the covers of John Kerry, Kerry and John Edwards, or Bill Clinton, all in 2004 (did you notice, by the way that all these covers feature smiles while…say…this one, this one and this one definitely don’t)? Maybe this cover of Howard Dean, also from 2004 would meet Sirota’s criteria?
