Burn Her! She’s A Witch!

Nicole Griffin, of the Potomac Ponderings blog is either psychic or a witch! Burn her!

I was reading an extended entry she had written (and no, it only appears that I’m blog-stalking her) on the Australian election and strategic realignment when I read this sentence.

As for the other side, maybe France et al will ally themselves with China. I don’t know.

And what do I find in tonight’s news hopper?

French President Jacques Chirac has called for an end to a European Union arms embargo on China as French and Chinese companies signed contracts worth more than $US1 billion ($A1.38 billion) at the start of a high-profile visit meant to strength commercial ties.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Chinese President Hu Jintao, Chirac criticised the EU arms ban, imposed in 1989 after China crushed the Tiananmen Square pro-democracy protests, as lacking “justification or foundation.”

“It’s a measure motivated purely and simply by hostility toward China,” Chirac said. He said France hoped to see the ban lifted “within several months.”

Chirac and Chinese leaders also presided over the signing of a series of contracts that included a deal for French engineering giant Alstom to supply China with trains worth $US1 billion ($A1.38 billion).

Folks, that’s either spooky paranormal powers or a damned fine sense of geopolitics. Either way, you ought to be reading her blog every day. Goodnes knows I don’t come up with that kind of stuff. I reserve my finest work for fart jokes and sarcasm!
